SpeedWitness VASCAR 6000 Visual Average Speed Calculator & Recorder. Visual Speed Calculation is the oldest form of speed measurement, where a traffic officer uses a stop watch to measure the time it takes a vehicle to cover the distance between two road marks. The basic philosophy is to compute time taken to travel a know distance. Modern electronics gives a new dimension to VASCAR where time vis-à-vis distance is computed electronically, and time/distance computations are done electronically to establish speed. Time or Distance can be measured in any order, which allows VASCAR to measure speeds while the patrol car in stationary or moving. We have added our Speed Witness Video capture system to the VASCAR 6000V which captures the entire speed measurement scene on a video tape, making the speeding offence undeniable.
