SpeedWitness CrossWatch is a Digital Red Light Traffic Camera System which records two automatic images of every traffic light violation. As an additional feature speed measurement can be added to red light violation capture system. The system is flexible and versatile and can be configured for use in various cross road settings. The simpler systems can be configured with one panoramic camera, and more elaborate systems can be configured with multiple camera heads to monitor several approaches simultaneously. Vehicle sensing can be done using piezo loops or radar sensors. Violation images are stored as 'Tamper-proof' data within the system; and can be retrieved using multimedia modules; or live via ISDN, PSTN lines, GSM GPRS or Radio Network. Remote reporting of camera tampering or faults through the optional 'Remote CrossWatch' to view live camera video.

The Installation includes the following functions

  Automatically retrieves and stores violation and image data from camera sites.
  Allows viewing and printout of captured violations built-in image enhancement features
  Remote site modification of operational parameters, e.g. time into red (optional feature).
  Produces printout of notice of Intention of Prosecute via 'hot links' to standard word processor type packages.

Retrieves statistical information from the camera site including

  Total vehicle count; number of Violations
  Speed and Violation profiles (histogram of average vehicle speeds and violations over a given time period)
  Removable Hard disk or CD Optical disk archive facility.
  Provides database searches – e.g. all red light violations above 10 seconds into red for the previous week.
  Remote 'CrossWatch' gives live view from cameras (up to 4 frames / sec depending on transmission media)
